Narrative, trauma and ethics: CIC to support traumatised practitioners

Many of the health care practitioners we meet when teaching Conversations Inviting Change bring narratives describing experiences of trauma: not just the trauma experienced by patients, but also encounters at work they have experienced as traumatising themselves. In a recent volume on narrative and trauma, John Launer describes how supervision using CIC can provide support. This summary of his chapter is from the newsletter of the Narrative-Based Medicine Lab at the University of Toronto.
